Tom Walls showed his versatility on the ground and in the air, scoring six touchdowns as Hawthorne defeated Waldwick, 45-28, in the first round of the North Jersey, Section 1, Group 2 playoffs yesterday in Hawthorne.
Walls ran for scores from seven and nine yards outs, and also threw four touchdowns, including three to Ricky Grofsick.
Grofsick's touchdowns were 65, 10 and 7 yards.
Dwayne Miele also caught a 20-yard touchdown.
Rich Garzon finished the scoring for Hawthorne with a 55-yard run.
Evan Pagliei had three touchdowns for Waldwick. He ran one in from two yards out, and then threw two more.
