Pre-sentence report ordered for 24-year-old woman

A pre-sentence report has been ordered for a woman who stole three guns and sold them to pay off a drug debt.
Jessica Hoyle, 24, pleaded guilty to breaking and entering and stealing a firearm, possession of a semi-automatic handgun and possession of a magnum handgun. All charges are dated between Aug. 1, 2010 and May 12.
Crown attorney Paula Thompson said Hoyle was working as a cleaner at a northwest-end house. Her employer had a personal gun collection of 28 firearms, court heard, which included five handguns.
On May 11, city police searched a Chemong Rd. home and found a loaded magnum.
Thompson said the gun was traced to the northwest resident, who told officers he thought the gun was in its lock box.
Police asked the resident to take an inventory of his guns, Thompson said, and that's when he discovered two more missing.
The guns were all properly stored and locked, court heard, and the key to the room was stored in a different location in the house.
There were no obvious signs of a break-in and the owner said the room could only be accessed by someone who knew where the key was and what it was for.
Investigators eventually turned to Hoyle, court heard.
Hoyle told officers she stole one gun in January, another in February and the third in April.
The guns were sold to one man, Louis Yourkin, who is still before the court, and another man named "Bubba," Thompson said, to pay off Hoyle's drug debt.
The case has been adjourned to April 16.
Yourkin faces a number of charges and is to have some of those charges addressed Friday.
